China's movie ticket sales have grown significantly to make China the second largest film market after the US. Under the circumstance, the Chinese government started to ease regulations on opening its film industry, increasing the number of films imported, raising the US' share of revenue and abolishing monopolization of state-owned enterprises. These moves will work well for News Corporation and Bona Film. Through cooperation, News Cooperation can take advantage of the Chinese firm's engagement in broad business areas from filmmaking, distribution and management of movie theaters. Meanwhile, Bona Film can pursue an entry into overseas markets as it can harness the American film studio's knowhow and distribution channels in North America.
