e-Sports is the generic name for tournaments based on computer games and all forms of related activities hosted by professional gamers and broadcasting stations. It has become a new form of popular culture and entertainment for younger generations that are well acquainted with cyberspace. Fans crowding into studios or stadiums to watch StarCraft competitions, a typical e-Sports game, number 600,000 to 700,000 a year. Popularity of StarCraft gamers like Lim Yo-Hwan or Hong Jin-Ho rivals that of celebrity entertainers and sports stars.
