The average overdue rate of domestic banks' won-denominated loans fell to the lowest in 18 months. According to the Financial Supervisory Service (FSS), the overdue rate recorded 0.98% at end-June, down 0.3 percentage point from the previous month. The decrease can be attributed to the settlement of large amount of delinquent loans ahead of semi-annual book closing, said the FSS. As of the end of June, the overdue rate of loans extended to businesses slid 0.39 percentage point from a month earlier to 1.09% while that of household loans went down 0.18 percentage point to 0.86%.
