Korea's job market gained 476,000 positions from a year ago in October, raising the total number of employed to 25,545,000, said Statistics Korea. Of those 476,000 new jobs, 289,000 positions, or more than 60%, were taken by women, with the remaining 187,000 positions taken by men. October's growth figure set a new high since September of last year when the market added 685,000 positions, making October the third consecutive month to see more than 400,000 new jobs this year. The main drivers were the public health and social welfare sector, those in their 50s and women.
